1. Start From A Solid Base
No amount of makeup is going to make eyes that are tired and puffy look fabulous – unless you start with a good base.
Apply a cold compress before you begin to reduce puffiness, and use a concealing foundation a shade or two lighter than on the rest of your face to hide dark under eye circles.
Go easy on powder foundation under the eyes especially if you have bags, dark circles or winkles, as the light reflecting on powder will highlight all the wrong things.

2. Get The Color Right
Using eye shadow the same color as your eye during the day is OK, but when you want to wow the crowd at night, go for contrasting color, purple with green eyes, browns and greys with blue eyes, and pinks, gold and greens with brown eyes all work well.
Apply a lighter shade from lid to brow, with a strong contrasting color from lid to socket, and smudge the outer corner of your eye with grey, black or brown for that evening cats eye look.
Avoid applying color under the eye if you have bags or wrinkles there, it won’t make you look young, rather, it will just highlight any issues you have.

3. Eyes Wide
Eyeliner can work wonders to define your eyes and make them sultry, sexy or sassy, if you know what you’re doing. Unless you have doe eyes that can take it, avoid the black eyeliner all-round the eye effect.
Instead, apply eyeliner from the widest part of the eye to the corner only, getting thicker to the corner of the eye for a dramatic effect.
If you want to line the entire eye without making it look smaller, use a lighter shade on the inner eye instead to open it up.
4. Lush Lashes
Layers of mascara built up and combed out can make even short pale lashes look long and luscious, but if you have small eyes, they can quickly be overwhelmed.
Instead, use an eyelash curler to open up small eyes, and apply mascara to the tips only to make them look even bigger.
5. Get Those Brows In Shape
No amount of eye makeup is going to take attention away from an untrimmed unibrow, or give definition to pale brows. Get your eyebrows in shape for the most effective eyes.
Pluck hairs above the bridge of the nose and from the underside of the brow to create a neat line that arches over your pupil when you’re looking straightforward in the mirror.
Use a lash brush to set trimmed brows, and fill in pale brows with an eyebrow pencil a shade or two darker than your natural brow. Set with a clear mascara for the ultimate in polished brows that will finish your eyes to perfection.
