1. Use Lip Liner
One trick for making lips look fuller is to create a subtle “3D” effect, by simply applying a lip liner along the outer line of your lips.
Use a shade that is just barely darker than your lipstick – any darker and you risk looking too obvious.

2. Use Light Colored Lipsticks
Have you ever noticed that you look slimmer when you’re dressed all in black? Lipstick works the same way; if you use darker shades, your lips will look smaller. Using lighter colors will make your lips look plumper.
There is a trick to choosing just the right shade. Avoid any color that is so pale it looks frosty – they can make you look sickly. Instead, choose a pale pink or peach with a satin finish for just the right lip-plumping look.

3. Contour With Shadow
You can use an eye pencil to draw a light shadow that will create the appearance of fuller lips. First, choose the right shade for your skin; light skin ladies should use taupe while those with darker skin can use brown. Apply a small touch of eye pencil just under the center of your lower lip, and then blend in with a smudge brush or cotton swab.
Stick with eye pencil for this trick rather than lip pencils or liners. Most lip pencils are tinted with red and can come out looking like you’ve smeared your lipstick instead of giving the shadow effect you’re going for.
4. Blend Two Colors
Using a lighter shade toward the center of your lips will also create the illusion of fullness.
Apply your regular lipstick as normal, then use a gloss or a lighter color lipstick on the middle of both the bottom and top lip. Blend the colors with a brush.
5. Always Wear Lip Gloss
The reflective nature of lip gloss makes lips look full, shiny and moist; it’s one of the quickest and easiest ways to make lips appear plumper. Just like with lipstick, you should use light colors, but avoid frosty shades.
6. Plump Up Those Lips
If none of these tips are giving you the results you crave, perhaps you should try a lip-plumping gloss. They are just about guaranteed to create plumper, fuller lips.
If you have sensitive skin, you’ll want to be cautious. These plumping formulas work by irritating the lips and causing a reaction that makes them swell. Try them out ahead of time to make sure you don’t have any adverse reactions.
