The things we won’t do for the appearance of longer lashes! Our eyelashes accentuate our eyes, making them stand out and appear larger, so we slather them with mascara, pinch and curl them, and even apply falsies.
But you may be able to forgo the makeup; if you’ve been cursed with short, sparse lashes, there are a few things you can to grow them longer and thicker:

1. Treat Them Gently
Just like your hair, if you want your eyelashes to grow longer you have to treat them gently.
When you remove your makeup in the evening, be careful that you aren’t scrubbing too vigorously in the delicate area around your eyes – it can lead breaking or shedding eyelashes. Use a gentle makeup removing cleanser so you can wipe gently instead of rubbing.

2. Eat Foods High In Biotin
We often forget that many of our beauty issues can be solved simply by giving our bodies the proper nutrients, and that can certainly be true with eyelashes.
Biotin and other B Vitamins play a crucial role in the growth of hair – including eyelashes. In fact, deficiencies in biotin have been show to cause a loss of eyelashes.
If you want to increase the amount of biotin you’re eating, look for foods like cruciferous vegetables and carrots, bananas, egg yolk, sardine and legumes – all known to be good sources of this important nutrient.

3. Massage Your Eyelids
A gentle massage on your eyelids can help stimulate lash growth by increasing blood flow. Gently use the tips of your fingers to massage your lids near the lash line. Of course, be sure to wash your hands thoroughly before touching your eyes.
4. Use Natural Oils To Keep Lashes Moisturized
Much like your hair and nails, eyelashes start looking bad when they’re neglected or malnourished. To keep them healthy and help them grow naturally to impressive lengths, you need to keep them moisturized.
Natural oils make a great moisturizer for lashes; try jojoba oil, avocado oil or olive oil. Before bed, apply oil to the lashes with a clean mascara brush or with a clean cotton swab.
5. Brush Your Lashes
It may seem crazy, but just like brushing your hair can stimulate growth, so can brushing your lenses. Use a soft bristled lash brush and brush them gently for a minute or so. But don’t overdo it – brushing for more than a couple of minutes can cause lash loss.
Make a routine of following all these tips, and you’ll start seeing healthier, longer lashes soon.
