A study of 5500 light-to-moderate drinkers, conducted over 7 years, showed that depression is less likely to affect wine drinkers.

People who averaged a glass of wine a day had lowered their risk of infection from a certain bacteria by 11%, according to one British study.
It’s also been shown by a Spanish study that people exposed to salmonella are less likely to contract food poisoning if they also drink a half a glass of wine with the meal.

Women between the ages of 30 and 55 who are light drinkers have been shown to reduce their risk of stroke by 20%, according to a study of more than 80,000 women.
What’s more, in the event of a stroke, resveratrol in red wine can boost an enzyme that protects the brain from damage.
10. Fight Heart Disease
A recent report in the American Journal of Clinical Nutrition says that having a glass of wine each day can increase omega-3 fatty acids in the blood, which will lead to healthier arteries.
